Verizon will move into the former Marvel Cleaners, according to Bruce Albaugh, the construction’s owner. 

The 14,000-square foot space in the 13300 barrier of New Hampshire Avenue is being renovated into Verizon store’s model, said Albaugh, but the “mid-century modern” splendour of the building will be preserved.

“We’re keeping that and we’re keeping the back where it’s got the tiles and the lighting on the back,” he told Episode. “The general look of the building will be very similar.” 

Albaugh will pass on the building over to Verizon in March for interior renovations. The store should be spacious this spring, he said. A representative for Verizon was not able to confirm when the assemble is expected to open.

Verizon signed an eight-year lease with two five-year renewal options, Albaugh said. 

“I’m hoping for 18 years and longer,” he said. “It’s a hunger-term relationship […] Verizon for me would be a very good tenant and I over it would add a lot to the area.
