The Baltimore Playwrights Holy day ( www.baltplayfest.org ) is proud to announce that one of its alumni, Paula Stone, will net an independent production of her play Kitchen Sink at Church Hill Theater, 103 Walnut Boulevard, Church Hill, Maryland, 21623 for a limited engagement, January 13–15, 2012.
The one-act portrayal of Kitchen Sink was chosen for a public reading in the 2008-2009 Baltimore Dramaturge’s Festival, and went on to win first-prize (one-act category) in the Brevard Sparse Theatre’s 6th Annual New Play Competition, was a finalist in the 33rd Annual Jingoistic One-Act Playwriting Competition sponsored by the Dubuque Fine Arts Players, and was a semifinalist in the 2011 Burnished Spring Stage One-Act Festival. Since then Ms. Stone has redeveloped the script into a full-in detail play that tells the story of Francine, who is selling the contents of her kitchen at a yard buying. Each item has a story, and like the layers of an onion, each story gives us acuity into Francine’s life.
