When it comes to showing off their Christmas lists, Patty, 10, Rodrick, 7, and Greg, 6, survive an art of it.
The three work together to make sure Joy, their mother, finds their lists on the refrigerator and in drawers, among other places in their pygmy two-story apartment.
"They always leave little notes," said Joy, "I haven't found one in the microwave or fridge yet."
There's only on aspect on Joy's wish list this year: to make sure her children have a Christmas.
The children's pater filed for bankruptcy and is not able to offer much support to the family.
Joy, a certified nursing fellow-worker, recently got a job at a nursing home to help support the family butthere's never enough for all the bills let alone any extras.
"I don't yen to see them disappointed," Joy said. "I would sacrifice anything for my kids to make sure they have what they call."
The children represent thousands of who will be helped by the Caller-Times Children's Christmas Please. The names of the families have been changed to protect their privacy.
